Default Hard Reset questions

I am trying to reset my password. I'm not sure of my password...I think I did a typo and now can't repeat. Anyway the manual says to do a "hard reset'. I'm just not sure what "personal info" I will lose....will I lose the set up on my e mail accounts? My contacts? Or will I just lose personalized rings etc.
Thanks for your help.

I believe it will wipe the phone clean. I would back everything up first to be safe...

I've only had this phone a week...so I'm pretty much a novice. And this is my first smartphone. I really don't know how to back up the phone. Sorry to be so dumb, but I'm learning as I go.

Well if you've only had it a week then you can't have too much on it! Hook your phone up to your PC via Activesync and use Outlook to save all of your contacts, tasks, your calendar...be sure to save any install .cabs to re-install any software that you may have. Copy ringers and other files to your PC as well. After the master reset you can hook your phone back up to your PC and copy everything back.

You'd be surprised how much I have on this phone. I have spent most evenings "playing" with this new toy. I did a sync already thinking that would be the back up.

Thanks so much. I'll probably try this later tomorrow.

Sounds like your last sync is as much of a back as your gonna get. You cant explore your phone via activesync/USB without the password.

I did a master reset and lost everything. I still need to go to my internet service provider to reset the connections of GPRS, PROXY....in order to make the Internet worked. The master reset changed the phone back to the original stage that came out from the box.....The ActiveSync can only save the contacts information....or anyone knows how to make a Restore, I really want my information of connections GPRS, PROXY.....)The Moto Q 9h is not commonly used here....

once its gone, well you know.. Next time may look into Sprite backup, that will make a complete restore simple + fast.

Yes, I figured that out. I have been out of town all day and really don't feel like battling the phone "stuff" tonight. I probably won't tackle this till tomorrow evening. I will do a sync to get everything current and I have made files of other info details I "might lose" so ....hopefully, this won't be too big a deal. I have always had flip phones and never before had the need to "lock" the keys. Putting the Q in and out of a purse I have accidentally hit keys several times and have noted it would probably be a good idea to be able to lock the keys....that is how all of this started.

Thanks again for your help...if is very much appreciated...I'll do a post after this and let everyone know how things turned out.
