Hard Reset questions

I'm tempted just to let things go as they are. The ONLY reason I wanted to lock my phone was to prevent accidental calling when the phone is in my purse.
The process of a hard reset seems a bit too daunting to deal with. Sorry you had the problem, but thanks for your input.
