Music or Audio GS player and connectivity on Q9H

Hi All, Sorry if this has been asked or posted about. I have a Q9H with AT&T. I installed the GS player software to listen to internet radio. It will not connect to the stream. I discovered if I open a browser and connect the stream will run for about 3 miniutes. Is there a setting or hack to allow gs player and other programs to connect to the net? Thanks

I'm not sure why the player is not starting the internet connection, it should. Thats a bug in the program I suppose. But the timing out is because of the idle connection by the browser. You can get around it 1 of 2 ways. Increase the idle timeout under settings>more>connections>menu softkey>menu softkey options, and change the idle disconnect after setting. Or, you can browse around, or even just refresh the page before the timeout, just to keep the connection from idling

Ok tried that and still nothing. I think you are right and its the gs player. My next question is can you or someone recommend a good player that supports streaming shoutcast mp3? There are several mp3 streams I want to listen to and the windows media player doesn't work right. The open url option with connection directly to a stream doesn't work at all.

You can try Resco Radio, I believe it allows you to enter urls for streaming. Theres others. Just do a search for streaming radio or something, and you should get something

Based on my previous experience with Resco software, I would recommend their radio software as well. They have some really good stuff. good luck.
