Default GPS Icon?

Hi everyone,

Newbie question here. I was wondering what the gps icon means at the top left corner of the WM6.0 screen beside the battery level image.

I have Google maps installed but nothing else specific to gps software which I believe this phone is capable of for a monthly fee.

I am on the Fido network in Canada.

I tried searching this topic but nothing comes up.

Cheers

Peter

If you mean the top right corner, thats the little icon that displays the GPS status. There is another thread that shows how to unlock it and I posted some stuff about what the different icons mean. Search for it.

hey bud, can you post the links PLEASE! I have not had much luck searching for them and I am curious now since I don't have that icon and would be curious to know how these icons are unlocked and when you see them and how. Thanks in advance.

I can't find that thread anymore. I can find the threads where I reference it, but not the thread I got it from, or where I posted questions about the icons....weird....might have been in another forum. Maybe Modaco or XDA

Thanks anyway, at least we have another record of this one for now.

Edit: A followup question/issue with the GPS icon. I noticed that it didn't show up on the main screen. Disappointed but not bothered until I noticed when I click "Start" (left menu button) and it goes into that screen, BAM it shows up right next to the battery but when back to the main screen, gone. Anyone know why that is? Is it something with the mainscreen XML file or something?

Check the CPU usage for home.exe when [x] or [v] is flashing and you'll do the same thing I did - disable this icon.
