Email Notification - Motorola Q Forum

Anyone know how to get rid of the DING DONG when I receive an email? I've turned off the message notification for email on my Q 9H but for some reason I still get this loud DING DONG when a new message arrives. I'm using OneBridge from iAnywhere to sync the device but I don't think the DING DONG is related to OneBridge.

thanks but I think I've tried that. Went to start>my stuff>personalize my q>sounds and ringtones. I set email notification to OFF.

I don't see "profile" anywhere on the Q 9h so maybe I'm not in the right area

Try going to Start-->Settings-->Profiles.

No go that way either. You can also get to the same place by pressing and holding the 'home' key. I've selected 'normal' and still key the DING DONG on email.

Did you just change the profile or actually edit it? From Start-->Settings-->Profiles, you should be able to highlight a profile, and click on the right softkey and Edit it.

Okay tried that but still get the DING DONG. ARgh!

Which profile did you edit? The one you are currently using, or a different one?

I finally fixed it by locating the offending WMV file and renamed it. I don't think it had anything to do with the Q phone but the email software installed on the device.
