| Buyer Beware! I would be very, very cautious about this.
From the various reports flying around here and other q sites, I don't think we've seen more than a handful of 9h units that support wifi--probably prototypes or engineering development/test units. There is almost no evidence to support the claim that the 9h, in general, is just a software update away from having wifi. People have made all kinds of claims, but I caution anyone who might be duped into believing they can buy a 9h with wifi.
On the contrary, there are a lot of reasons to believe Motorola would not include wifi in the 9h, mostly for cost reasons. Sure, the processor in the 9h supports a wifi interface, but it requires a secondary chip to actually implement it. Real estate on very small PCBs is very costly, and having extra chips that software doesn't support doesn't make good sense.
See my previous posts on this for more details. I'm still waiting for anyone who would like to back up any claims with real schematics. I've asked but I have yet to hear a peep from anyone.
So beware. |

| i just mailed that guy on there and this is what he said......" Dear warriorpluto,
I couldn't till I read the specs from the Moto website.. Everything that is in the description is copied directly from Motorola.
I have not used the phone, so I can only hope they are true as it stated. |

So beware. | Dast, you have to be careful in these forums. Several posters here (including some mods and one well known and liked poster) insist that WIFI is on the Q9h and say they have schematics to prove it. I countered their claim with correspondence from Motorola to the FCC and with correspondence from Motorola to myself, and they just say that Motorola is lying, oh wait, "misleading" everyone. You'll get their wrath if you disagree with them.

I'm hoping that someone with a WIFI enabled Q9h can post the FCC ID number. I think that will go a long way in clearing this up.
