Moto is usually pretty good about helping you out, as long as the unit isn't stolen or anything fishy. Definitely give them a call.

I gave Motorola a yell and they were very helpful. I opened a "claim" and received instructions on how to proceed. The only stumbling block at this point is proof of purchase...which I am currently requesting from the original owner. As he's unable to find the paperwork, I'm hoping a bill of sale from him with some specifics will tie him to the phone....satisfying Moto.
We'll see.
