E-mail will not send

A few days ago, my wife was having issues with her gmail account on her phone. No biggie, she started using her hotmail instead. Over the past two days, she hasn't been able to send any e-mails. E-mails through hotmail, yahoo and windows live appear to send, but never reach recipients. She is receiving messages on all account though.

Gmail gives this error: "The message(s) cannot be sent. Be certain that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct and then try again. "

She's checked everything and then I started checking pop settings...everything seems fine. The phone works just fine hitting web pages, so it's not a network issue. This problem just crept up in the last few days. Previously, she hasn't had any issues with e-mail.

I'm not sure where even to begin with this one.

I had this happen (and so did others here) I had to delete and re-create the Gmail account 4-5 times before it started working again..

That's a bummer.

But would gmail cause no send issues with hotmail and yahoo as well?

good point.. you could try changing to imap, just as a test..

for the heck of it, was it plugged into your pc? I also heard gmail had a server issue a few days back.

if setup correctly (unless you choose not to) you should be able to poll for mail even when connected to a pc...

I'm stumped everyone. We synced the phone with the pc the other night, but we don't use the phone when its hooked up to the pc.

We just tried syncronizing with hotmail and got an "error syncronizing".

Also, when we try to go to "account settings" it won't open the settings.

In addition, she's shut the phone off and done multipe battery pulls.

that error message is different. I will get an message saying, network can not be found, at times. someplace in settings is something like connect to network using usb, that should be turned off. not shore of the phone you have. maybe try syncing it again from the computer. Are you able to connect to the ineternet on the phone?

Shw changed her default browder back to opera. Would that effect things?
