Default E Mail Account Problem

I want to take an e mail account off of my Motorola Q 9h, but when I go to "Account Settings" option...nothing happens. Any ideas?

Was the account set up by another program, and which account is it?

It was set up under XPress Mail. When I go to "Tools" and then to "Account Settings" there is NO response. I have two different accounts (one I set up alone and one I set up with Motorola's help), but both are "reading" the same email account...I wanted them to read two different accounts so I figured best to start over and just eliminate the one account.....

From the Start Menu, go to XM Settings. Use the Menu button and choose either Re-register or Reset All Data. This will remove the "main" e-mail account and let you set it up again.

This account is not my main account. That is why I haven't done the fix you suggested. I am afraid I'll lose my main account. I live in a small town with local internet provider and it was quite an ordeal getting the main account set up. The real problem I am having with the 2 accounts is that when I check my e mail from my phone, e mails sent to the main account also show up on my secondary account. I may end up erasing everything and starting all over again, but it was about 30 minutes set up on the phone with Motorola who basically walked me through it step by step and told me to ignore the manual and tutorial instructions for set up. I also have a gmail account and I have no problems with that whatsoever. THanks again, Sue

I had three accounts set up when I did the Re-register option, and it did not affect my other accounts, just the "main" account. Good luck with whichever route you take!

Boy will you be sorry you tried to help me....I did the re-register and set up the account again. Now I get an error message "S7900..another update operation is currently in process" Then when I get out of that I get "Error Synchronizing" up at the top left of the screen. Any ideas?

Yes, if you were trying to manually send/receive, the system is telling you it was already doing a send/receive in the background.

Best way to check it is to send yourself an e-mail to that account.

Yeah, I kind of figured that one out. I think I have deleted the e mail file I wanted to delete....at least it doesn't work anymore. Now I want to get the account name off of my list of accounts. I'm usually not this "stupid", but this is my first "smartphone" I do love it and I love the bells and whistles, but it is taking some getting used to.[

If all you want to do is remove one of your e-mail accounts that you set up, all you have to do is go the the messaging window where they all appear in a list, highlight the one you want to get rid of, press the menu key and select delete. Some of them have the delete choice shaded out. You can't delete those. For example you can't delete the text, sms or outlook accounts. Any accounts you set up you should be able to delete from this window.
