Default Disable GPS on AT&T Moto Q9H

Any help on how to disable without doing a hard reset ?

Just a thought - did you try Microsoft's GPSID utility?
May be, if you reassign GPS to different SW com-port , it'll help.

What software are you using in conjunction with the GPS? For google maps and Live search, exiting the program or deselecting "use gps" in the menu for either program will kill GPS activity.

If you set the COM ports to 1 or 3, anytime you exit the program, it will automatically kill the activity as well. For some reason, if you set it to COM 5, even though it will work, it will remain on indefinitely, draining your battery.

Try that.
