i am having problems putting ringtones on my cingular motorola q 9h. i have put them in the sounds folder and they show up there but when i click into sounds on my phone they arent there. i can also play them in wmp but for some reason they will not show up in the sounds folder to add them as a ringtone. if anyone knows why could you please help me out thanks!
To use as a ringtone for your phone they need to be in the ringtone folder. To use as an alert sound, ie; text, email, etc they need to go into the sound folder.

welcome both drew's...
drew93 is this something new for the Q9 ? on the Q1 all sounds go in the same directory.
its for the cingular 9h. i read that you have to delete the file size limitation or something. i am trying to do so but cannot figure out how to work this registry editor. can someone tell me how i would go about running the registry editor? thanks
The Q9h has two seperate folders. I had problems using my ringtones as alert sounds until I realized that. I have 147 ringtones that I installed. They are WAV, WMA, and MP3 formats. The only one that doesn't show up is a WAV file 438kb. All the rest of the files are under 200kb. I did see a post on how to change the size limitation if that is your problem.
