Smile Charging Battery

This is my ftrst Smart Phone so this question is probably very basic...should the phone be on or off while charging?

Thanks from this senior citizen!

First of all, welcome to the forum! It is best if you have the phone off so that the battery gets charged fully and in the quickest time possible. I know its very tempting to start playing with your new toy, at least that's how I felt when I got my Q9h Give the battery a chance to get the best charge, then you can play with it all you want.

Hope this helps...

I leave mine on almost constantly. I may do a reboot in the morning and thats about it.

it will charge faster with it turned off, but odds are your asleep anyway...so I say user prefferance

I have always heard that Moto phones don't seem to fully charge if on at the same time. I use CT Scheduler to turn it off around 11P each time when I usually turn in and plan to recharge.

YMMV

I never turn off to charge and have never had any issues.

When I fist get a phone, I plug it in immediately before doing anything else, out of the box, to charge it fully.

After that, the phone stays on, when charging or otherwise and is only turned off if a reboot is required.

I've noticed in the morning, after leaving it charging overnight, the battery indicator shows that it is not plugged in. The indicator in the home screen shows that it is fully charged, but when I look under power management it's about 98-99%. The phone stops charging once it reaches 100% and starts charging again when the level drops to a certain point.
