Default Can't Remove McAfee Antivirus Software!!!

I installed the McAfee antivirus a couple weeks ago, then realized about a week later i didn't need it. so i removed it from the "remove program" menu. HOWEVER, it is still on the phone...and i can't get it to stop running!! I kill it in the task manager, but it pops back up a second later! It makes my phone run extremely slow at times and i cant figure out how to get it off the phone...any advice? i already tried the Mobile Registry Editor and it cant find the program.

good luck...i was foolish enough to install it and then when it went crazy and totally drained my battery so i tried to uninstall it. of course it would uninstall so i tried to contacting macafee, but they never responded.

i ended up having to hard reboot my phone to start over, i of course deleted the install package off my phone...what a sh&tty program.

Yeah, I had the same problem with my 1st phone. Luckily, I had to get it replaced anyway, so I got a new one, and I definitely DIDN'T install it on that one. Thats how I worked around it....

Sorry I can't be of more help. I had the same problem though, sucked.

I ran into the same issue and just removed it a second time. I haven't seen it back on yet.

This is how I removed the McAfee software:

(1) reboot
(2) remove link from windows/startup
(2) kill process(es) in Task Manager
(3) reboot
(4) check task manager you should have no VM processes running - kill if you do
(5) Setting/remove programs remove virus software
(6) kill virus processes in task manager
(6) remove link from windows/startup (yes it will be back yet again)
(7) reboot
(8) delete McAfee Virus.. folder from Program Files
(9) delete McAfee folder from registry HKLM\software
(10) reboot - say woot!
