 |  Can't Remove McAfee Antivirus Software!!! I installed the McAfee antivirus a couple weeks ago, then realized about a week later i didn't need it. so i removed it from the "remove program" menu. HOWEVER, it is still on the phone...and i can't get it to stop running!! I kill it in the task manager, but it pops back up a second later! It makes my phone run extremely slow at times and i cant figure out how to get it off the phone...any advice? i already tried the Mobile Registry Editor and it cant find the program.  |

| good luck...i was foolish enough to install it and then when it went crazy and totally drained my battery so i tried to uninstall it. of course it would uninstall so i tried to contacting macafee, but they never responded. i ended up having to hard reboot my phone to start over, i of course deleted the install package off my phone...what a sh&tty program. | Yeah, I had the same problem with my 1st phone. Luckily, I had to get it replaced anyway, so I got a new one, and I definitely DIDN'T install it on that one. Thats how I worked around it.... Sorry I can't be of more help. I had the same problem though, sucked. |

| This is how I removed the McAfee software: (1) reboot (2) remove link from windows/startup (2) kill process(es) in Task Manager (3) reboot (4) check task manager you should have no VM processes running - kill if you do (5) Setting/remove programs remove virus software (6) kill virus processes in task manager (6) remove link from windows/startup (yes it will be back yet again) (7) reboot (8) delete McAfee Virus.. folder from Program Files (9) delete McAfee folder from registry HKLM\software (10) reboot - say woot! |
