Default AT&T Q9 - Release Date?

Any word when AT&T plans to release the Q9? I would assume it will be after the iPhone has been out a few weeks?

I have to say I am very disappointed that we have heard nothing more about the launch date. I realize ATT is all about the iPhone, but get the lead out and ship what the others want.

Cool. I stopped into the (2) local AT&T stores at the mall today, one rep told me EOY, Q4 before it was coming out, I said yeah thanks. The second store, well the fella in the black shirt who looked possibly like upper mgt type didn't know what the Q9 was and the one guy who did said, no Q9h is due out EOM. I did let him know the "h" was dropped a bit ago.

No onto the Best Buy store folks about memory (no I don't buy memory there) but they went on to tell me how the Q9 was going to need the newer microSD that was not compatible with previous microSD slots. I have to ask where do these genius's come from?

Actually, I think i read somewhere that the new Q WILL need different memory card--- micro SD is smaller/different card than Mini SD - which is what current Q has. Am I wrong?

The Q q9 uses standard MicroSD TF cards. There's a spring loaded slot behind a protective cap on the left (almost underneath) side.

The MICRO vs MINI refers to the connector.

The Q q9 uses the newer (50% smaller) micro USB connector.
Phone came with US plug Micro connector charger, and Micro USB to USB data cable.

! Micro USB? never heard of it. maybe i need to do a little brushing up... but aren't you referring to two different things?

1. Mini USB - i'm plenty familiar with. The last three smartphones I owned came with a cord that is considered mini usb on the end where it plugs into the phone, and its standard usb size on the end that plugs into computer. I've never heard of a micro usb. I use it to sync and recharge my phone.

2. The post i was replying to definitely was referencing Micro and Mini SD memory cards...not usb connectors. What I was attempting to say is that from what i recall reading, the q9 will take a micro sd card. the current Q takes mini SD. I think that's what the best buy rep referred to a couple of posts ago was trying to explain - though he may have butchered his explanation.

I was attempting to point out what the Q q9 has for a connector socket and memory socket.
It's all MICRO....
MicroSD for Memory Card (TF) and
Micro connector for USB/Charger.

I moved a 1 Gig MicroSD mem. card from my MOTOKRZR K1 my MOTOQ q9.

However, all of my mini USB data cables and chargers are useless for the Q q9.

(My current search is for a female-mini:male-micro adaptor.)

I spoke with Motorola representatives yesterday at a Moto event taking place in NYC. I had a chance to check out the Moto 9h and ask a few questions. Nothing on the release date yet or carriers. Obviously, we're all expecting AT&T considering the photos that cropped up on BoyGenius. My best guess is that we'll hear something official in the next couple of weeks. The model I checked out was the European version and included a Vodafone branded email app.

AT&T business rep said as soon as WM6 is available for Treo 750 and BlackJack, we will see the Q9. They want to have the upgrade patch ready before they launch the Q9.
