How stupid can AT&T get. Moto Q9 buyers are available now, and why should we be forced to wait while they tweak WM6 from two different OEM's on two different devices. Putting out the Q9 now will force those working on the Treo 750 and Black Jack to move their butts.

Completely agree. The other issue she said was WM6 testing by AT&T has yet to be completed. Depending on what we see first, the other will be right behind it.

Hi All,

First I'd like to thank you all for your support, it's been great. Thanks!

I hate the say the 1st gen Q just couldn't keep up with my demands, I didn't like the way too many things worked (or didn't) or stuff like having to spend hours finding codecs to play DivX videos, for example. So I am switching off Sprint and probably going with ATT, but I am willing to wait and see the Q9 before I get the BB Curve.

Do we know when ATT will get the new Q?

TIA!

B.

No, but I'd venture to guess August or at the latest early September. Again, this is not based off anything. Motorola has neither confirmed or denied AT&T as the Q9h carrier and they certainly haven't announced release dates. There have been photos of the Q9h being tested on AT&T (splash screens and all) which leads me to believe it's AT&T....and soon.

Hang in there..

-Chris

Over at Boy Genius Report the latest news looks good for late August on the Q9 front.

"File this one under unconfirmed rumors, but we got a nice tip this morning that included the Motorola RAZR 2, Motorola Q9, BlackBerry 8820 (again), Pantech C810, and the AT&T SMT5700. According to this anonymous tipster, we’ve got the Motorola Q9, and the Motorola RAZR 2 V9 pegged for an August 24th release. Same day action, baby! The Pantech C810, a rumored WCDMA device, is looking like it will see the light on September 9th. What about the BlackBerry 8820? Well, "expect" that to lauch on August 13th or 14th, and the SMT5700 to follow on August 24th, or August 28th. Who’s happy if these launch dates stick?

UPDATE: The 5700 as pointed out below, should actually be the AT&T SMT5700 QWERTY device."

It's been almost 2 weeks now, and I'm very comfortable running this (unlocked) device on AT&T.

I think I've got all the settings working properly.
Call quality/connection is at least as good as other Motorola quad-band phones I've had.
MMS is working.
E-Mail is working (G-Mail is the only account I've set up so far. I set it to check every 15 mins.)
Internet is fine. Opera Browser is good, as you would expect.
Windows Live/MSN Messenger is runs fine.

(The only issue I have is Zone Alarm and ActiveSync....despite a Microsoft suggested "fix" I can't sync with Outlook when Zone Alarm is on. !?!?)

AT&T and Motorola announced Razr2 will be in stores next week. Wonder how far behind the Q9 is??

I've heard these two dates as possibilities: August 24 and September 11.

I've had an AT&T-branded Q9 for a few days now. So far so good. It appears the GPS is not enabled out of the box (at least on mine). There is a link to TeleNav, but it comes up as "available soon." Google Maps and Yahoo! Go don't pick up GPS either. Also, the Xpress Mail link is not working.

My unit is a pre-release, not a proto. Came in a Moto box with just the mobile, battery and charger. Luckily I have a V8, and used its data cable.
