Default Active Sync through BT?

Can someone please enlighten me on how to successfully sync through bt? I've gone through the help menu in active sync on how to sync using bt. It says to add a com port in bt settings in pc to no greater than 20. But I can't even find where to add a com port.

Never mind. Got it to work. As someone suggested in another post

http://www.everythingq.com/forum/blu...tml#post175601

I just needed to go through the connection settings in active sync in my pc. Went through each com port until I got it to sync with my device.

Glad you got it working, it gave me a headache a while back and was driving me nuts, so I just gave up on it. Maybe when I am have more time, I will give it another shot. It seems like a waste not to use it.

You basically just have to get Active sync set for the COM port the phone wants to transmit on.
I get to relearn it all again next week on my (soon to be) new laptop (hooray for vista.

It's actually quite a bit slower than USB, nothing beats a hard cable connection, even in networking. But its less cumbersome with the cables and stuff if you can get it to work right.

good, have fun and hopefully when you relearn it, you can post something for me, I am not in a mood to screw with it, just want to follow good instructions and be done with it. Thanks.

Are you serious ???? Oh man, USB is slow enough with the Q9h....I transfer stuff onto my card using my laptop's builtin reader then copy it over to the phone if I ever need to. The speed of the connection kills me. Not to mention how it tanks the phone's processor while connected too....

Totally discouraged me from ever trying it

I would NEVER use it for file transfer, I use the built in reader on my laptop. This is for sync with PIM for me, nothing else. I am currently content with USB for my PIM sync but would be nice to avoid the leash you know. If I am in the other room and I get mail or something, it will sync remotely with my handheld and I can decide if I want to get up and go deal with it or not. That's the only reason it would be nice, otherwise, no rush or need for me.

Want to hear something even more discouraging? It won't allow me to sync with Media Player on my laptop. Kinda sux. But it is a handy when your on the go like at the airport or a coffe shop. You don't have to pull out a usb cable.
