Different bands.

You be able to use the Europe version in North America but you will not get 3G.

The version in Europe also does not have an internal GPS.

Well one of two things,

1) You actually have a North American Model

or ... more likely

2) The all the Q9h types support 3G it is just that in Europe they use different frequencies. You maybe able to get 3G in the Middle East but when you go back to America you may not.

2100 WCDMA Europe Asia
850 1900 WCDMA North America

ok, i got the european version and i'm new with a q. I've been doing research and I can't exactly figure out how to get a signal. I have att pay as you go and it works in all other att phones. I was going to try the 850 one but that last post threw me off. Any ideas? thanx

the European version of the q9h works with att voice, no problem. but it only works with EDGE data, (no US 3G) so it is kind of slow. i had the European version until I upgraded to the q9 global when att finally released it.

so it may be that it's not compatible with pay as you go plans?

Default SD support

The main difference is the size SD card the phone can support. If you go to the motorola website and look at the q9h for different countries, you will see each country supports a different amount of SD memory. The Eruo one supports 2GB I believe, the Ausi one supports 4GB, and the Canadian one supports 32GB. I am ordering the Canadian one because it comes in all black unlike the American one and still supports up to 32GB SD cards.
