Exclamation WHY A Q9c & NOT A BLACKBERRY CURVE?

I've been a Verizon Q user since the 1st day it was available. I've had 1 exchange. In the last few months I've been experiencing the dreaded freeze & lock ups. I can't begin to tell you how many times the phone came close to a violent end. I do have some 3rd party software on the phone so I'm really hesitant to do a master reset and have to re-install all my stuff.
I went to Verizon today to explore the Q9c (which is apparently only available via the website for now). The Verizon dude discouraged me from any Windows Mobile OS and strongly encouraged me to go BlackBerry.

I don't see any major difference but some I've spoken to liken the difference to PC vs. Mac. For me to entertain the learning curve of going BlackBerry the difference would have to be orgasmic if you catch my drift. I was wondering what the rationale was out there for choosing a Q9C over a BlackBerry Curve. Thanx! -Z-

First off, the Verizon dude works on commission. He wants to sell you more expensive stuff that he has in his store. The guy at my store swore the Q9c was not out yet, so I logged on here (from my Q1 to show him it was! ) Embarrassed the hell out of my daughter...I don't know about the BB, but I know the guy wanted to sell you something!

For starters, the Verizon guy probably wanted you to go Blackberry cause it's more expensive and they work on commission.

Other than that, blackberry's are much less customizable that the Q9 (or any windows mobile phone for that matter). My mom just got a Curve through ATT and I played around with it for a bit. The layout of the Q9c seems much more user friendly than the UI for the blackberry. Almost everyone in the world is familiar with how windows works, so navigating around a Q9c is easy, where the blackberry will definately take some getting used to. Other than that, the only thing BB has going for it is direct push email, which if you read my thread on Seven Systems, you realize you can direct push for Q9c as well.

I would definately stick with a Q9 having used both the curve and a q9c.

It's all about what you want to do with the phone. I see BB's as more corporate oriented and the Q9c not so much. I think I like my q9c so much because of the similarities it has with my computer. PIE for internet, Outlook for my email/exchange and other similarities. BB's are very rock solid phone for those who need that, but I think the q9c is more fun and customizable. Once again it's up to you. You did come to a Moto Q forum to ask this question and we are all bias.

I personally don't (haven't looked) but cruising various other forums I see hardly any 3rd party software for the bb curve....

My home screen on the q9c is set up EXACTLY how i want it to look, and man I have so much crap on here, if I come up with a question if you get stuck on a dessert island I wand a solar battery charger and my q9c loaded with my e-book collection!

IMHO the q9c is the best electronic purchase i have ever made, short of my latest pc, but even that can't ride along with me

Default Blackberry fee?

Isn't there a $30 fee for email notification on the blackberry?
That's why I went with a q9c over the blackberry. Plus, you can set the q to check yr email as frequently as you like. Not only do sales-people get commision, they get "spiffs" for selling BB's from RIM.
Go with the Moto Q!

Thanx gang! Bought the Q9c just 10 minutes ago on line. Ended up costing me $33.45 w/ tax ($100 discount, $100 new every 2 credit $50 instant rebate).
