Type-navigation in all windows

This probably exists already, but the search terms for this topic are so general that I'm having a hard time finding an answer.


I'm trying to get text-based navigation in basically any app window.

i.e. I'm in the start menu, pressing hardkey "S" goes to the first app starting with "S".
I do the same in Resco File Explorer, I want it to go to the first folder/file starting with the letter I type.

It's driving me nuts, thanks.

are you asking if this works in resco? if so press alt and # at the same time..

Almost. Basically is there a way to have Alt+# be the default functionality without having to press Alt+# to enable it first every time I open Resco?

Also I want this to apply to other windows like the Start Menu.

well...that's a tall order! Resco..nope. Pretty easy though!

and not sure about others like the Start menu. I'm in list view and it just grabs the A,B,C..etc....worthless. You can always make folders to shorten the menu.

Gah. I know it's not much of a big deal for Resco Explorer.

It would be very handy for Start Menu though, unless I just find a much better Start Menu replacement.

sure...not sure if your c can or could do list view instead of icon view but in list you just hit right on the pad and can quickly cruise the list. 70 apps equals 10 clicks..plus an up or down or two!! haha....

Or with a fixed facade hs launcher or quick launcher app you can set up your favs...most used stuff..you know!
