There was a hack for the Q1 that lowered the volume of the startup tune. I think the file was piano.wav. Anyone have an idea of what the startup tune is for the VZW Q9c or how to lower its volume? Thanks.
Well, I did some testing and research. The file in question is "vzw_startup_sound.wav". I ran it through Audacity and dropped the output about 21db, to where it's just a whisper. I then moved it to my SD. Finally, I used Resco Explorer to copy it to my Windows folder. You have to agree to overwrite and accept the warning about a system file being changed. Now, when my Q9c resets, the startup volume is nice and low and not annoying to me and everyone near me.
Unfortunately, the zipped size is too large (135kb) to attach here, but if anyone wants the file, email me. Needless to say, you are messing with system files and anything can happen. I take no responsibility, etc...do a backup first.
