selective ring tones

Ok I can't see to find out how to do this and I am sure it is right in front of me. How do I select an mp3 to a particular contact and make that their ring tone?

you have to edit the contact and scroll to where it says 'ringtone' and click there to pick what song you want

I got to that part, but it does not let me select an mp3 as a ring tone, just the pre tones on the phone

where did you put the tones you want?
are they in the ringtones folder? are they in the root directory of the storage card?

there all on my memory card...is there not a way to have it select of the memory card? I just don't want to fill up all the memory on the q when I have an 8gig memory card.

as long as they are NOT in any folders on the memory card you should be able to see them
so they should just be loose in the main (root) directory of the card

and make sure they don't exceed the size limit or do the size limit hack..

I have tons of ringers all on my memory card and use them for specific contacts. They are correct just need to make sure they are on the main part of the storage card, they can't be in a any folders. Weird rule but true.
