phone randomly lighting up

my Q9C will randomly light up like a text is coming in but nothing else ever happens. it is a little annoying because I will see the phone light up out of the corner of my eye and I will think that I have a text but nothing happens. I do not think that the keyboard lights up (it may but I do not recall) but i know for sure that the back light turns on. any help?

maybe a MMS or a Email is being received?

do you have any email accounts set up that send/ receive automatically?
it can also be when the phone switches between 1X and EvDO (or to and from Roaming if you are moving)

yes my email accounts both send/receive automatically.

that's probably most of it then. It will light up when tmail.exe initiates the data connection.
