Official Q9C Hack Thread

Time to start thread about Q9C. Cmon people give up the hacks that u got on your Q9C?

The first thing u gonna need is RegistryEditor (Run this from your PC)

how to unlock the Q9C
download Unlock.zip from my q apps page and run it on your PC,
then go to your phones accessories and find HTCunlock , highlight it and execute, don't panic when u see that you phone is doing weird stuff . It will change some values in your registry . Thats it u good to go.

Speed Hack _
1. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE
change limit from 16384 to 65536

2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\STORAGEMANAGER\FATFS
change cachesize to 4096

internet speed hack
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings\

change the key MaxConnectionsPerServer from 4 to 50

Change DNS servers
SetOpenDNS.zip

instruction: unzip the file on ur desktop and put exe file on ur Q's sd card and execute before connecting to internet it will not stick if u reboot ur phone so after each reboot just run that app .
or
u can manualy Edit this registry key:

HKEY_Local_Machine\Comm\Cellular Line\Parms\TcpIp\DNS



Change default values to:

• 208.67.222.222
• 208.67.220.220

This will make your scroll bars smaller so you have more room to view the page.

HKLM/SYSTEM/GWE
Change the values from 6 to 3
CXVSCR
CYHSCR

change homepage in PIE navigate to:

HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/INTERNET_EXPLORER/ABOUTURLS

Modify the "home" key to include whatever landing page you want to use.
Just make sure to keep the "http://" in front of the URL or it will not work.

move internet explorer cache to sd card

Step 1.



Using File Explorer in ActiveSync or the File Manager on your smartphone, create the following folders on the root of your Storage Card.

\ietemp\cache

\ietemp\cookies

\ietemp\history

Step 2.
Fire up the registry editor on your phone and navigate to the following key. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders


You will need to edit the following values.

Cache Change Value Data to \Storage Card\ietemp\cache

Cookies Change Value Data to \Storage Card\ietemp\cookies

History Change Value Data to \Storage Card\ietemp\history

Reboot your phone.

This hack will sort the Start Menu on your phone

1. Start up your Registry Editor.

2. Find the following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell\StartMe nu

3. Open the item called Order

4. Currently, it probably has entries for the first 15 items in your start menu.

This is how to change the name of your device like you see it in ActiveSync:

Open your registry editor and change this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Ident
Select 'Values'
Select 'Name'
and change the Value Data to the new name for your phone (do not use spaces for this name)

Important: before you sync your Q again, open ActiveSync and delete the partnership that was using your old device name. The next time you sync your device, Activesync will ask you to set up a new partnership with your new device name.

so far the only things ive done have been the youtube thing and some software i had on my previous Q nothing major yet.im still waiting to see what others do theirs and how it works.

I got resco explorer , smartweaker , and some other stuff but I wanna try all the hacks that i did on my old Q. Tried open dns and it didn't work

im really a rookie when it comes to the hacks but the possibilities are endless with this one.. ive been watching movies on mines all night..by any chance have u gotten the instant messages to work on yours?

the only thing i use is isq which u can find on my apps page . I don't use any other but i might give it a try

if u don't wanna mess with registry u can get smarttweaker it does a lot of hacks for u

ima try the smartweaker and see how it works out for me..good looking out on the speed hack i need to try it.To watch the movies just do the youtube thing and once u got that working u can check out movieforumz.com, click on the link u wanna watch and itll start playing for u..the downside of it that it might buffer a bit depending on what youre watching.

change the dns servers and there won't be no buffering ;)

Have u heard about EvDO ? Thats what I was talking about . regular vision pack is a lot slower than EvDO
