Default My Q9c seems to freeze all the time

So, this past weekend I noticed my phone would freeze on me whenever I pressed the enter key. Most notibely when I was selecting a contact to pick the number I wanted to call. I've done soft resets since then (about 12 since Saturday), but that doesn't do a thing to fix it.

I talked to the Sprint guys and they want me to pay around $80 to fix it (I didn't get the extended service pack 'cause I've never needed it on a phone before), or be without a phone for up to two weeks while I pay to ship it to Motorola.

The only thing left for me to do is make sure it's backed up, and then do a hardreset...which I'm doubting will work.

Has anybody else had these issues? Should I pay to get it fixed or would it be easier/smarter to just demand a new phone from Sprint?

It might be the predictive text database - Go to Start-->Settings-->More-->More-->Text Input Settings and clear that database out. If you don't need to have the prediction enabled, you can uncheck Suggest Words while Typing. This fix has helped a bunch of folks with sluggishness.

Last thing - any new programs you've installed or uninstalled lately?

The only new program I've installed is Papyrus so far. Other than that it's just documents I've typed up on it or a few things like that. No games, no thing.

I will give that a try though....maybe it will fix it.

If not, is there a good way to back up all my folders? I'm running Vista Ultimate, and I can browse the folders real well. I've got everything important on my SD card, but my contact list is on my phone, and I want to make sure that I save that.

If you can't sync your contacts with Outlook (or the Vista equivalent), then you can back up your contacts by copying the pim.vol file from your Q. Search for pim.vol here at EQ for instructions on how to do it and restore your contacts if you have to reset.
