Default help with PIM file please?!?!?!?

So i think i might have messed up. I just upgraded from my moto Q to the new Q9c(sprint) and i tried to copy the PIM.VOL file from my old q to the new 9c. well when i try to pull up my contacts now it wont pull anything up and then i eventually get an error, which for some reason i cant get to pull up right now. The light at the end of the tunnel for me is if i dial a number and then go into my dialed calls it is able to look at the PIM file and see the contact's name, but i still can't get into the directory. Any ideas?

when the Q is off i don't think it matters if you pull the battery... off = off.
i would say only pull the battery with the Q on as a last resort.

how did you replace the pim.vol file? did you rename the file on the Q9c before you copied the file from the Q over? i recently did a master reset and copied my pim.vol file (saved on the SD card) onto my phone. I first renamed the file on the phone to pim.old and then copied the pim.vol file from the SD card to the phone. this way, it doesn't say "do you want to replace the existing file" message. i dunno, hope that made sense.. after i did that, i reset my phone w/ the reset button and my contacts were all there. i then deleted the pim.old file.

good luck.

when you copied the file did you ude the default file manager? If so try uing Total Commander or Resco to copy it to the device.

personaly Resco is a little more user friendly. Both can be had from rudeboy's app page
