GPS update slowed me down - Motorola Q Forum

I got my Q about3 months ago. GPS worked great. I went to use it one day and it asked me to update it. I did, and now it is so slow! It takes forever to get the signal, and then when I am driving it can't keep up on the maps. The maps are always not complete or fully loaded. It still works but not as good as before. Anyone else experience this?

What was updated exactly? What program are you using?

I am using the Sprint Navigation. The upate was an update to the program itself. It appears that it changed the format and added a few more features.

Lately my gps has been super slow too, it almost makes me wonder if somethings going on with the satellites as my sirius radio has also had a few quirks lately with signal issues for no reason. Could just be area dependent too.

Use Google Maps. Its much better and faster than Sprint Nav. and Live Search. Plus it has the "Find Contacts" feature which the other two do not have.

Sorry not familiar with it. Does it offer tuen by turn navigation with voice and all?

No, it does not (nor does Windows Live Search), unfortunately.

weee96, you shouldn't be having anymore problems with sirius. all the interruptions you were getting last week starting thursday and lasting over the weekend was due to them doing an upgrade on the satellites.

yep! I had one rep tell me it was my receiver but I swapped out receivers and the same thing was happening. when I called back I was told that it was because they were upgrading the satellites
