GPS not working for Midwest Qusers - Motorola Q Forum

I realize we ave tons of posts about GPS systems and bugs, but I wanted to raise a concern about midwest Qusers in particular.

After using GMM GPS for months, suddenly me nor my friend 100 miles north of me are able to get gps tracking with GMM. I've tried all ports, uninstalling, reinstalling, screwing with settings on my phone and nothing seems to work.

I then DL'd WLS, and that program also has a problem getting my position.

Other Midwesterners having issues with the weather we've been having? Maybe I should just wait it out a few days?

I would also be interested in hearing about other free gps apps. in order to test my phone, or to possibly find a temporary gps substitute.

Using GMM in Chicago and its suburbs and the GPS is working fine for me without making any changes after installation. I also have updated to Windows Mobile 6.1 several days ago, but the version of Google Maps isn't different.

Well, I will wait to see if anyone in the midwest reports an issue...

Until then, and this is where I may want to refer to other posts, why in the heck would my gps be working fine for months, and then all of the sudden NOT work in TWO different programs?

Can some Qusers supply my with their GPS settings in their phone?

Settings<other<other<phone settings<gps settings...

Time between fixes -

Performance (seconds) -

Accuracy -

I messed with those settings shortly before the gps failed...

I'm near Chicago and I haven't had any problems with WLM, GMM or Garmin.

im in north east ohio. I have noticed that the gps has been working sometimes and sometimes not. odd thing is that it seems to be app related. livesearch almost always works, while trapster and google maps work sometimes and not others.

Well, I've tried all ports, uninstalled, reinstalled, and still no GPS for me and my buddy. Windows Live also 'Getting position' until it times out.

Any help/suggestions from anyone before I do a hard reset this week?

I live in kansas city, so hold tight and i'll load google maps and see if I have any problems
