Thanks for the re-post, I found these instructions somewhere but didn't know where to find them again. I have already done this and can say this is a great write up, follow these instructions and you too will soon be dust free.

repost? I think you mean bump. Whatever, not really important. This should probably get stickied for all the dusty q9c owners out there.

I've briefly tried just taking off the back cover (Part 4 of Instructions), without much luck. What exactly are people doing to get the back cover to start sliding off? Are you guys just putting pressure down on the back cover and pushing up towards the top of the phone to get it to start sliding? Or are you inserting something into those 2 holes on each side of the "battery cover door button"? Thanks.

I think I either pressed down a bit while sliding up, or I put my fingernail kinda between that piece and the rest of it and slid up. I dont recall seeing the access holes, but it definately does slide up, in the same manner the battery cover slides down.

Yeah out of the curiosity to see the innards, I tried this too, but got stuck on this step. The top cover doesn't want to seem to budge for me. *shrug*

i had MAJOR dust issues within the first month i had my sprint q9c..

so, i bought a faceplate from the Cellular Nationwide Network's website (i believe it was 29.99, and took my phone to a sprint repair center..

it took them about 10 minutes to put the new faceplate on (i had some scratches too, so i just told them to change it because of the scratches..

that was nearly 3 months ago, and there isn't a SPECK of dust under my screen..

i wonder if it's just a factory issue.. the new faceplate seemed to have extra foam under it to provide more seal

I think I may order a backup faceplate from their, but jeez for almost like $15 more or so you can use insurance and maybe get a new one....or a refurb....ugh
