Default Getting skips when using windows media through bt headphones

Anyone know what to do about this? My bt headphones work fine on my laptop, and I pair them with my phone, which can normally play mp3s fine with WM player, but when I play them while using headphones, i get occasional skips, etc, as if too many resources are being used.

what to do? upgraded to wm 6.1

If you look in the hacks section, there are 3 registry values that determine BT streaming resources.

You can google for info on how you might want to adjust them also.

Another solution might be not to use WMP. Most players use less resources than it and with the WMP plugin on Pocket Player for example, you can still use the BT profile for remote control.

yes, but those do not seem to be the same for q9c, which uses widcomm. by default, q9c does not have a a2dp registry thing where the hacks say it should be.

check in the bluetooth manager to make sure that it is connected as a stereo headset rather than handsfree. or redo the pairing and when it asks if you would like to pair as handsfree as well say no.

With wm6.1, the widcomm/plugin/av registry values are there by default.

If you are using 6.0, you have to make the values.

So you cannot get good performance if you also pair as handsfree? I ask because mine also has a mic on it.

you can, but when you want to listen to music you need to make sure that it is initially paired as a stereo headset. It should switch to handsfree if you answer a call.

You can. Mine is paired as both (when you pair it as a stereo, it then automatically asks you if i want it paired as hands free also).

But I would try a different media player and see if it still is choppy. If it is, adjust the registry value (I forget which one is most recommended to lower without highly degrading audio quality).

wow, what a huge difference in quality if you pair it as stereo headset and say "no" to hands free.

so if i want to answer a call, do i need to do anything else, in regard to adding as a hands free, etc?

papped,

You know, I have this same problem with tcpmp or windows media player, with wm 6.1. If I am using bluetooth headphones, it seems to use 10x the amount of resources, and navigation is far, far slower than if I am not using bt headphones. Any way to fix that?
