Default Email Temporarily Freezes Phone

I use wireless sync to my Exchange Server and have installed the hack to use my SD card to store all mail. Frequently, I get the spinning Windows globe for 45 seconds or so when sending and sometimes, when receiving, the device will freeze completely until the email procedure is finished. This can sometimes last a minute or so. Doesn't sound like much, but trust me, it is. FWIW, I have 17mb free in Storage and 19mb free in RAM.

My setup is exactly as it was on my Black Q1 (the hack to store on the SD was slightly different with WM5), and I never experienced this problem. Does anyone who is wireless syncing with an Exchange Server and storing email on their SD have the same experience or am I alone in this???

Perhaps I used the wrong phrase. My phone is set to sync directly with my Exchange Server, without having to be connected. The settings were entered into the ActiveSync application. That is how I receive and send email as well as keep my other Outlook data (Calendar, Contacts, Tasks) in sync with my desktop Outlook. I thought that was considered wireless syncing; my apologies.
