Does phone need to be activated for GPS to work? I just got my q9c, and Sprint is having issues, the MSL numbers they gave me just aren't working, and the MSL generator I found doesn't appear to be giving me the right numbers either. (Yes I've also tried 000000 but that didn't work either.) Regardless, I've been playing around with it just to get things set up, while I try and have a new one sent out to me. I have it connected via Windows Mobile Device Center to my PC in order to get the internet (temporarily until I get it activated of course.)
Using Google Maps or Live Search, I have been attempting to try out the GPS. I realize that it'll take a lot longer to find satellites without the aGPS hack, but I've been placing it on the windowsill, where both of my Bluetooth GPS units have no problems getting satellites even after a cold start, and it just refuses to find any.
Is the phone more broken than I even thought, or is it normal that the GPS isn't finding satellites without having the phone activated? |
