Default Contacts Location

Hello,

I just set up my new Q9c. I have my old Q sitting here and am wondering if the "contacts" reside in a certain folder I could transfer between phones via an SD card or Active Sync. Keep in mind that active sync does not have my old phone's contacts because I only have outlook 2000 or express or something incompatible like that. Thanks a million in advance.

Brian

open the file manager..

copy pim.vol file to storage card or pc.

(with card)
use total commander or resco to copy from storage card to root of device.

(from pc)
transfer file to "my documents". Copy file from that folder to root of device with eithr of above mentoned apps.

root of device = not in a folder

apps can be had here..

So I got the Total Commander Cab file and installed it on my phone. I'm not sure that I understand how to move files to the "root" menu or whatever. Please forgive me for not searching; I just felt as long as we're all here. Any and all help welcome. Thanks in advance. -B

you dont need total commander to move files
you have a file manager built in to the device

Well I went to storage card, selected the pim.vol from my old q and then dropped it in the blank space at the top of the main list of the file manager. It asked if I wanted to overwrite pim.vol and I affirmed. Now the contacts don't even open. It's as if nothing's in there. Ideas? -B

1. reboot and try again usually will clear itself after the reboot
2. if not then copy to another location on the new device then move to the final location and then reboot
3. try a few times may take a bit to get it to work
4. if it still doesnt work with the native file manager then use total commander
