Can't open pictures from SD Card on computer - Motorola Q Forum

I have a 2GB miniSD card. I have taken a few pictures and put them on my SD/Storage Card. I can open the files just fine on the phone. If I take the card out and put it in my card reader and try to open the pictures, they appear to be corrupted or something. When I put the card back in the phone, the pictures are fine. I've also tried this with other file types and have the same results. Txt files just have garbled data on the PC but open fine on the phone.

Please help!!

Is your miniSD standard SD or SDHC? I know 2GB exists in both 'formats' so it's possible that your computer doesn't read SDHC properly.

or try copying and pasting the files to your computer

I think its the card reader...older ones can't go above 1 gb.

What happens if you trying emailing one of those pictures to yourself?? Will it still be the same?

Thanks for the responses guys. I eneded up talking to our phone guy here at work and he said that we are using a client addin called Trust Digital which allows us to connect to our corporate email and such. Apparently, this client causes everything on the phone and SD Card to be encrypted. I can email stuff to myself and it's fine, but if I try to put the SD card into my PC or another Q, it doesn't work due to the encryption.

i see its too bad my idea didn't work but glad you got it fixed
