Oh, I must have misinterpreted the question. I thought he was asking how to add more alarm sounds, which I actually haven't figured out yet. I added things to ringtones by moving them to the "My Ringtones" folder but haven't been able to use them as alerts/ alarms.
Place the ringtones in your application data>home>sounds folder. Then go to settings>sounds and set the tone for your alarm/alert from the ringtones you placed in the folder. I was able to set up a couple of my mp3 songs as my alarm and email alert following the above instructions.
