Default are teh Q9 series phones worth the upgrade?

I have had an original Q since hte first day they came out basically. I have had 0 problems done all the firmware updates and such and dont really see any reason to upgrade even though my new every 2 is up for me.... I love the fact that I have NES on my phone not shure if I'll be able to do it on WM6 but I'm shure someone has done it...

are there any big upgrades/ differences with the Q9 series other then wm6?

There are people (me included) who run pocket nester on a Q9. Most of the software for WM5 will also work for WM6. Mostly WM6 seems to be visual improvements. But if you have Sprint or AT&T you can look forward to GPS (Verizon's Q9c has GPS but it only seems to work with VZ Navigator)

With any of them you can also use a mini SDIO wifi card as well.

The keyboard is also much improved, and the smart backlight is a nice feature.

Like you, I've had the Q since day one. I upgraded to the Q9c two days ago. Here are my first impressions:
- GPS Disabled (only functional if paying for VZ Navigator)
- Keyboard has more closely spaced keys (hard for my thumbs to hit the keys). I prefer the Q's keyboard over the Q9c.
- Comes with Documents To Go (although I believe you can add this to your Q)

All in all - my opinion is nice phone, but no significant improvement over the Q, especially considering VZW's insistence on dumbing down and locking out features. I am seriously considering sending it back and reverting to my old setup. Then, once my contract runs out next month, I'll go to a carrier who doesn't lock out features that are built into MY phone.

doesn't this depend on your personal situation? how much do you have to pay? it costs me $200 and a new plan but i blow $200 on much more useless stuff so it was worth it to me. i still have the 2nd line which is the old q. the q9h is much better. but they are both more than enough to meet most needs for a smartphone.

Speaking for my situation, it only cost me $39 to upgrade from my old Q to the new Q9c, plus I get to mail in a $50 rebate - so I actually come out $11 ahead. Yes, a better phone than the original Q, but I'd still rather be on a different carrier and be able to take advantage of all the phone's capabilities.
