9c is slow, and sometimes freezes up with black screen. - Motorola Q Forum

This was a great phone for about a month. I synced it with my exchange server and installed google maps and that's it. Ran fine setup like that for about a month.

Now it's slow as dirt. I can't even make calls sometimes and it's embarrassing when someone asks me if they can use my phone and I say sorry my phone is not working.

I tried checking task manager, cleaning up cached files from using IE and it still doesn't help. This is completely unacceptable making it the worst phone or piece of electronics I ever had.

Don't get me wrong, I loved it when it was working, but now it's almost a brick and not trustworthy. What if I need to make a 911 call and can't?

Anyone have tips on what may be slowing it. Sometimes the screensave kicks in and I can't get it back without removing the battery and putting it back in. A PITA since I have a condom cover over mine.

Do you have your Q9c set up to suggest words as you type? You might need to clear the database associated with it. If you don't really need it, then uncheck the option "suggest words while typing". It'll really help with the lagging.

Thanks, BTW how do I do that? I'm looking under 'text input settings' but I'm waiting for the phone to respond after clicking on that.

Did it and it still ran slow, but I rebooted the phone and it runs fine. I'll let you know how it goes, thanks.

Thanks, if Windows mobile 5 worked right none of this stuff should be necessary.

Actually, your Q9c is running WM6. It's actually not so bad in handling programs and running your Q. But, you still need to be a little proactive to keep it running well (like your PC or you car or whatever). Running SKTools Lite to clean your Q's memory up a but every once in awhile is relatively painless . . .

every OS has flaws, this version is not as update friendly like the pc version..tooo much red tape.

Running ok after one day. Slow to respond initially after unlocking, sometimes doesn't seem to refresh the screen to where it still shows it needs to be unlocked, but when I push it again, it goes to the start menu. Better than being dog slow though. Thanks.

And for the record, I think WM6 sucks.
