Default updating Moto Q software for Mac? Sprint...

Sorry if there was already a post for this.

I use Sprint.

How do you update the software on your Moto Q if you are a mac user?

-I tried downloading a software update. And then using Missing Sync and dragging it over to my Moto Q for it to run and update, but that didn't work.

-I tried dropping by the Sprint repair store to see if they could update it for me and they said they could not. they told me to call tech support.

I figure I would try here in hopes of a MAC user having success in running software updates for their Moto Q. Anyone?

As far as I've seen, the updates for the Q are performed by Motorola software, not by installing pieces on your own.

I've only seen the Motorola software available for Windows. You run their base software, attach your phone, and their base software then downloads and installs updates for you-- it reboots the phone a few times, etc in the process. Not just a cab file.

If you could indicate what you downloaded and from where that might help- but I think you will need a Windows computer in the end, or to take it to your friendly phone store where they might do it for free, if you have a good rep.

you can send the file via bluetooth to your Q. i have a mac, and this is how i do it with all files except .exe files........then you need a pc.
