I have a MacBook Pro also, and have been able to connect using TMS. Although it often takes a restart on both the Q and my Mac before the connection will go through. The 2 dot dissapearing graphic is often a problem. Sometimes I have to completely remove and then reinstall TMS on both my Mac and the Q before the connection will complete. Keep in mind that it is 'alpha' software, and should continue to improve as Mark Space provides updates.

Yes, TMS works on Intel based Macs.

Would this be a difference in speed or connection quality in any way? Thanks Again. Sam.
Your welcome, happy to help out my fellow Mac users. There is apparently no difference in the modem scripts. The Verizon 1xEVDO script is installed by VZW software you get with a PC EVDO card. If anyone wants the script, send me a PM with your email address, and I'll be happy to send it to you. Though again, testing from multiple users shows no apparent difference between the 2 scripts. (the other being the 5200 script that comes stock with OS X)

Please email me asap. I am so excited for this awesome feature!

Yes, tethering DOES count as data usage. If you browse the web, and/or download files, you could easily go over your 10MB limit. The overage charges for data are exorbitant, so be careful. You may want to consider upgrading to the unlimited data plan if you tether often.

It never gets to the point where it connects to Missing Link and asks for the .cab file.

So manually sent the file to my Q and it installed it ok from my mac.

That is where I am stuck. My Missing Link software is not connecting to my Q. The Mac and the Q are speaking to each other, because I can send files, pair them, ect.

Has any else had this problem?
Jason,

If you follow the directions in the second post on page 1, then you should eventually be able to sync. I say eventually because it may take several Q/Mac restarts, and you may have to reinstall the software on both devices. Getting the Q/Mac connection is tricky, and intermittent. The stalling 2 dot graphic that refuses to connect is a known issue, which Mark Space is working on. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next alpha release.

First of all-- Chris, thank you for your excellent comments in this forum. I've followed all of them closely and within 48 hours of getting my Q have managed to do pretty much everything I wanted, except for... one...little...thing:

I (perhaps overeagerly) bought TMS today, installed the beta version, and... have the same "2 dot problem" several others have recorded here... The "solution" which seems to be rather flaky is to restart/reinstall the software on both ends over and over until something happens... and then... if I read this correctly, just because it works once doesn't mean it will every work again. You may have to do the same uninstall/install thing over and over... until... it works again? One time?

Oh well.

I'm out $40. I'm not going to bother getting it to work at this stage. I assume I'll get an email update from TMS when this problem is resolved. In the meantime, I'll monitor this forum. And if anyone has figured out a more effective solution to the one described above, by all means, post!

Thanks!

Well, the good news is that you've probably transferred your existing calendar and contacts to your Q. I noticed on their site it was mentioned that "Though we don't have a planned release date at this time, we are hopeful that it won't be too much longer."

I'm thinking the glass is half-full at this point. So, while you're out $40 now, you are of course entitled to the free upgrade when it becomes available.

Thanks, glad to help out. That's what it's all about.

Default Usb

I've been trying to sync with the USB without success, since I've read that the new beta supports USB. Has anyone actually gotten it to work? I'm stuck at the one dot disappearing graphic...
