Need Help with Syncmate.

I tried searching but not much came up. I have been a memeber of most of the treo communities for quite some time, but this Q/Mac issue is driving me nuts.

My mother has a Mac pc, not the newest, but pretty new. I bought her the Sprint Q9C for Xmas. Of course my prob comes with syncing.

Should I download Syncmate to the Mac itself or to the Q? When I attempted to dl"d it to the Q, I get this error that says that it is unable to. So I dl'd it to the Mac. When I start up the program, then plug in the Q, it doesnt ever register a connection? I know i'm missing something simple. I would like to solve this. U know, it's mom.

Thanks everyone. If there is any additional ifo thats needed let me know. By the way she does not have leopard on her Mac.

i dont have a mac but i have only heard about people using missing sync

First, thanks for the quick reply. I heard the same thing too. Gotta love having to purchase a $40 app so your phone will function properly.

The only thing that makes me think different is that a couple of weeks back on the everythingq main page, there was a summary and download link to this "syncmate"

but you should download it and install it on the Mac and not the Q
that should work for you

although there was one post under that summary saying it doesnt work with leopard

So far thats what I did. Installed on the mac, she doesnt have leopard. Everything installed fine and opened. No connection established when q was connected via usb.

Hey Nic,

Yea i was looking for an alternative to the 40 dollar missing sync software and stumbled upon to syncmate. unfortunately im having the exact same problem. so i could use advice if anyone else has experience with the program. I would really hate to buckle and pay out the 40 bucks.......

I too do not want to pay the $40 for the software....I had the same problem with SyncMate, I connect the Q and it dosnt recognize it and nothing happens
