Missing Sync wont connect USB - Motorola Q Forum

Hi,
It trys to connect but gives up at one white dot. Never connects and Mount, Sync & Dismount does not enable.
Has anyone figured out this problem.
All I've done it connect my new phone, download the free trial of Missing Sync and hook up the USB.
I am using a Mini Mac (original model) 10.4.8
I'm not sure what else I can say about the setup.

Go into sharing option under system preferences and do a STOP on your firewall. It will not detect the phone without the firewall off.

I'm having the same problem. Just bought my Q and Missing Sync today - in usb mode, it remains at just on dot - won't recognize the Q. I did turn off firewall - no difference. I also tried to sync via Bluetooth, and although my computer recognizes my Q, it will not engage in syncing. I put it in flight mode (phone off, bt on) - but, still nothing.

I am running Tiger and have 3.02 in missing sync, and all the updates in Q. Oh PLEASE help me!!!!

I am having the same problem with my htc p4000 but it was working fine for the past two days and now nothing but one dot on usb connections. any luck?

go to settings, connections, usb, and turn off enable advanced network functionality.

Missing Sync has a help section where it walks you through setting up bluetooth (up by file, edit, etc). You do have to make sure that both the phone and the computer recognize each other in bluetooth. The computer will give you a code to punch into the phone for the two to sync up. You have to tell BOTH the phone and computer to sync, not just one.

After you do all that the Missing Sync will sync just fine with your Q.
