Rating or review How crunkwizard came to everythingq.com

Hey guys its your fairly still new member "CrunkWizard" (name says it all...most) And I wanted to let everyone know how I ended up in the Forums. Now I don't think this will be a lONG boring story so I guarantee It will be entertaining/Informative/creative and we can all laugh and learn from it.

I was procrastinating this for a very long time but i have to put it on writing before I forget the technical parts.

So my Story begins about 6 Months ago...

I was visiting a friend house when he pulls out a moto Q. He had found it at the convenience store and was fiddling with the internet. He saw lots of links to porn which i thought was Hilarius. He was planning on returning it to the owner. I thought the phone was really neat.

Months later around November I saw my boss wearing it and he was showing of some emulators which i thought rocked for a phone. I called my friend who had found the moto q Months back and inquired if he still had it. Well HE DID!!! And his reason for not returning it was that the battery died and didn't know how to charge it. (He Really didn't) So I asked if he would sell it to me since he just bought a new phone. He sold it for 50 Bucks and a WOW card. He knew it was worth more but he knew I wanted it.

Well this phone came with a leather(or fake leather) sleeve with extended battery and a 512 SD card. I just thought this rocked. So i got home and plugged the USB port to boot that baby up.... To my disappointment I get A boot logging screen. Im sure all of you are familiar with. So i started googling it up and found this website and many others with the same problem. I tried the basics. Pressing combination keys, charging over night but nothing happened. I even purchased a charger for the battery alone to trouble shoot it. My computer was not even reading my q and it would shut down.

I Work for Power house best Buy. I consider myself a pretty savvy pc user. and i can fix software related problems and such. Just like the geek squad TECHS. But where I work we do have some smart guys. Teachers, people that have worked for corporations and stuff so it was way of my league. I decided to go to them for some help. One particular Bright employee also had a Q so I asked him to please help me. We would get along at work so he tried and was just able to get me out of Boot logging mode and onto the sprint screen..... I was happy but ..... it was stuck at the sprint screen.
after two weeks of trying I gave up and shoved it in my drawer. I was stressed ,Hours of work for nothing to show really.
Well I decided to Hit the forums and search again. I wanted to try again. and I borrowed a q from a friend and and tried myself one of the updates where you update a working moto q and switch before the update so it can try to boot the non working q. I tried for about an hour no luck. the Tech at work mentioned finding the rom so I was able to find information on FLASHING and roms. I downloaded a software(which I don't have the name available on me right now but i can post it later) and found a site that states that they had the rom for my q > but it has never been tested to see if it was the rom. so i hooked up my phone ran the software and wallah I see movement on my q. installing or complete *i read something like that. but the program would go to 100% then Re check it self or something and it would fail...... I tried for another hour. nothing

I proceeded to doing the update and swaping phones and the update actually worked up to 24 percent. I was surprised something was happening. I tried again and again and it got stuck at 24 percent. so i went back to the flashing software and nothing. I went back to the update and it went to 50 percent (i think this is where the q suppose to restart I believe on working moto q). did this for another hour then Finally went back to flashing and it was done. I Revived this MOTO Q that was dead for so long. I dont want to sound weak but I felt like crying. I felt like I achieved something. it reminded me of the feeling I got when i fixed my first pc because my mother could not afford paying 250 to fix my pc that only cost 200. I was really happy. i stayed up all nite playing with it and went to work all sleepy.

So My moto q is not activated yet but i have been modding it adding kool stuff to it. I found out today that it was locked.........

I called a buddy of mine and managed to called sprint and I made up a story..... They are going to unlock it for me. I have to wait about 2 or 3 days . But i did get a confirmation code so i can keep check.

Im also happy to report I was able to change my contract with sprint where I was paying 100 dollars a month for 2 lines with protection and only one with texting . to only paying 30.99 with unlimited internet data/text and 650 shared minutes.

So now i wait some more and hope I can use it soon.
Thanks for reading my post and thanks for posting . I was able to fix my phone cause of you guys. crunkWizard

I thought if a phone was reported lost/stolen the ESN would be flaged and not be allowed to be reactivated. How have you gotten around this?

I feel for the poor person who lost the Q, but by now they have a replacement or moved on.

lol i understand how you feel. But It was not my decision at the time. i would have returned it.

Well i forgot to mention in the LONG biography there but a co worker told me he had experience reactivation lost stolen phones. he told me he would make up stories that would put you the new holder in a situation that was a misunderstanding to them. and now they feel sad and compelled to help.
In plain english I told them my friend lost his phone, and declared it lost. got a new one. then found the found gave it to me and for X reasson left to europe or something and I haven't had contact with him . So pretty much im stuck with a phone . i was surprised at this I was told let me se what i can do. after 20 or so mins the lady tells me save this pin. I am going to process your phone to unlock it and you should be activated in 2 days or so. I think its a lengthly process but it worked on the first call. i was surprised.

Hey buddy assuming you mean when my q was a brick and would shut off right? If so I need to ask him when I have the time because I was not around him to watch most of his trouble shoot attempts. but just to let you know I had tried those combinations buttons already before i gave it to him.
