Default Gmail stops receiving/sending

I have been using the Moto Q since November 2006. I use Gmail as my email provider with Bell Sympatico. It occassionally (usually Fridays) stops sending and receiving. I have phoned Sympatico tech support and unfortunately they have not solved the problem - they get me to reenter my Gmail account into the Moto Q and if that does not work they get to reset the POP setting in Gmail - this usually works. I know other people using other PDAs who have not had any problems with Gmail and Bell Sympatico, i.e. reentering Gmail account to Moto Q or resetting the POP on Gmail.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

I am the original submitter of this problem and you are the first to reply to the thread (7 months later!). Unfortunately I have not found a solution other than every time "send/receive" stops I go back to gmail and reset the POP forwarding. If someone has solved this I would appreciate a solution to this. Thank you!

I did look at the GMail thread however, I think this is more of a Sympatico issue which is why I posted the question.

Default sympatico settings

jproudfoot,

thanks for your response, it is very frustrating that we cannot resolve this issue. Can you tell me what settings you are using for the sympatico settings. The pop and smtp settings. also, can you send from your sympatico account? And, are you using telus mobile email of just you setup it up using the mail icon.

Sorry about the delay, I don't check this very often and I wasn't notified that you had replied.

Under Email Address: - I prefixed my email address with 'recent:'

Server Type: - POP3
Network - The Internet

Incoming Server: pop.gmail.com
Outgoing Server: mail.1xbell.ca (got this from Bell support)
Require SSL connection - not checked
Outgoing server requires authentication - not checked

I only use gmail on my MotoQ.

I am currently lasting about 30 days before I have to go into my settings on Gmail and request POP forwarding from now.
