Default Text Messaging Issues

Hey guys,

I signed up because I figured this was the only real resource that I had any chance of getting help from.

I did some searching, but was unable to find my exact problem - however, I did see other people with problems I am also experiencing.

The problem I've seen that other people are experiencing is duplicate texts - I get sometimes upwards of 4 or 5 of the same text message. Is there a fix for this? All the threads I have read had people stating they were going to try different thing, but none confirmed a fix.

Furthermore, my text messaging just flat out does not work any more. I've experienced delays [which I thought were network issues], but it appears to be the phone that is the issue. I can receive one or two texts from a person and then the texts from them just stop coming in.

They still receive what I send, but I am unable to get the messages they send. If I powercycle the device, SOMETIMES I get a bulk of 5-6 messages that were stuck.. which is partially why I am certain it's not a network issue.

I text upwards of 2000 times a month.. so you can see how this might be a problem.

I'm on the Telus network, and none of my friends are reporting issues with texting. I text to multiple networks and I always experience the issue.

Does anyone know what's up?

I've checked for a model number and the best I can find is:

Model: Q H/W Rev A

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

I would reccomend checking available memory on Q. this may contribte to not recieving(maybe).
[url=http://mq.roeiboot.com/apps/]SKlite[/ur] works good for cleaning/free up memory

with the txt volume you do, make sure to delete old txt on a regular basis.

My current stats are:

Device Storage: 52.49 MB
Used: 27.13 MB
Free: 25.36 MB
Card Storage: Unknown
Used: Unknown
Free: Unknown
Ram Storage: 51.98 MB
Used: 23.34 MB
Free: 28.64 MB

--

I don't have an additional memory card in the device - do you think that would help?

I try to remove my texts on a regular basis, but I'll admit I do fall behind - however, the issue is still present when I do clean them out.

I'm testing it again.

For the link you provided - do I access that through the phone.. or how do I apply it?

Thanks for the help!

Alright, so I just cleared my texts and sent one out asking for the person to respond a couple of times.
I received two messages, replied with one.
I received the second message she sent me again, but nothing further.

edit//

I just sent another text message to the same person and she said she had responded 3 times to my last message.

That means in total she sent 5, I received 2 - 1 of which came twice.

odd, you sure it's not a carrier issue?

you can follow the link with either, its a cab file so if done on Q it will auto install after download. No stransfering mess needed.

Fixed link here

If you are with Crap-tel it's a known issue. I called them last Friday night (3rd phone call about the same problem) & was on the phone for 1 1/2 hours w/ CSR. When we send/receive text we can get as many as 6 repeats. They finally put me in touch with a Tech Support guy who said that they were experiencing problems with the servers. They are trying to fix it. The servers are not recognizing that messages have been received. This is also delaying the release of the Moto Q9.
~~side note~~
When I told CSR that we were getting repeat texts the first thing he did was tell me to take my phone into a Crap-tel store & have them flash my phone to reset it. I said NO, that I had a Moto Q, that I just installed the MOL 4 update & no-one was going to touch my phone. He thought maybe he would look into other alternative ways to fix my issue.

shame on you for making the CSR do work! Still baffels me the way some CSR's assume it's always the phone and not them.

I tried clearing it out, and it didn't work.
I did both the "Auto Clean!" and "FreeUP RAM".
I deleted all past messages again.

Issue is still present.

Is Crap-tel, Telus?
Because they told me there was no issues at the moment.
My brother works for Telus as a TSR, so I'll have to speak to him about it - I'm just really bummed this text messaging is down.. it's taking a huge part out of my every day business, hahaha.

Thanks again for your replies - if I find any details from my brother I'll be sure to post it here.. and if you guys have any other suggestions, please feel free to post them.
