I often wish the our Everything Q forums could be divided up by different carriers. We tend to spend/waste alot of thread-time with people chiming in their two cents (usually a good thing) based on a carrier experience that isn't relevant (Question: "How come the Q can't send picture messages?", Response: "Mine sends picture messages with MMS just fine") - all because members with different carriers have different issues and capabilities, all with the same phone.
I also wish there was a way to aggregate posts related to internet connectivity/PDAnet into their own section, where we could more plainly discuss how it works, why it works, its theoretical limits, and how "ethical" it is related to carrier user agreements.
I think part of the problem is that people use so many different terms to conceptualize what PDAnet does. Internet access. Tethering. Broadband. Connectivity. Connection Sharing. Getting internet on my laptop. Using phone as modem. Dialup on my Q.
I guess its just the way it is. You know, its surprising that PDAnet has such a monopoly on what they do, aside from carriers providing the options themselves. Its a great product.
i would still like to replace one of the icons (IM icons under user avatar) to represent their carrier.... (who knows that will happen). which btw will not be visible on the mobile site.
BUT....
to be brutally realistic here... we will keep answering the same question over & over since not everybody uses the search button, yes it has flaws but it's not utilized enough, mike is correct... people don't always pay (enough) attention.
