I am not sure how to make ringtones to be able to put into the Q. if somebody could tell me how to switch from mp3 to a wav. file that would be great thanks

you can use an mp3 as a ringtone

Also, beware that using an mp3 for your text message notification will play the entire mp3 and you CAN"T silence the song in the middle of it (meaning if you are in meetings its probably not a good idea to have "Running with the Devil" as your text message alert)
