Default Preventing Accidental Key Presses?

To avoid accidental key presses when my Q's in my pocket, I lock it using Home/Spacebar. I also have a security lock that requires a password after 5 minutes in case I lose the Q. Here's the problem. After 5 minutes in my pocket, any accidental key press will be interpreted by the Q as an attempt to unlock the security lock. Anyone have this problem and if so how do you get around it?

The keyboard lock would be fine it it weren't for the fact that if I lost the Q, the new "owner" would just have to press * to get all my personal information. No I don't think I like that.

It may come on but it won't let you go to contacts, calendar, etc. I'm getting resigned to the fact that if I want to protect my personal info, I have to be willing to hear beeps in my back pocket from time to time and the message "Several attempts have been made to access your passcode. Please enter A1B2C3." It's an annoyance and I was hoping some Q guru would have a workaround.

By the way, I used to be a "rudeboy." That is, I was a fan of Selector, Specials and English Beat. That's as "rude" as I got!

yesterday morning i was still a Guru here, now i'm a mod... honestly i think i do not totally understand what it is that bothers you, before my Master Reset last week i had it password protected but don't recall hearing beeps or other annoyances..

OK. Try this experiment. Set password protection on your Q for 2 minutes. Wait 2 minutes. Start pressing a bunch of keys (this is to simulate what happens when the Q's in your back pocket and sit down, say). The Q will either beep and say "incorrect password" or worse "several attempts . . . [see earlier email]". I think that's a bona fide cause for aggravation.

Well you've got one thing going over many of the original rudeboys. You're still around! Definitely still love music. I grew up with ska in London in the 60s so that music's deep in my blood. I was also a professional guitarist for 12 years.
