Default Every button turns the phone on

The problem that I am having is that any button touched on the Q turns the unit on. If it is in your coat pocket or holster it takes nothing to wake it up. When I look in my coat, the unit is glowing. Read into this that the battery dies quickly. Is there a way to have a button that is not easily hit be the only on / off switch? I was able to do this on my other wince PDA.

What I am looking for is when the display turns off, the unit will not wake up unless a certain 1 key is pressed such as the red key. This strikes me to be one that is not easily pressed by accident. I appreciate the lock idea, but I am not realy looking to lock the device, but rather keep it from turning on if a button is pressed. With the lock idea, a button that has preasure on it will keep the unit alive until the battery is dead.

with the lock feature when a button is pressed it will turn the screen on for 2 seconds and then turn it right off. it certainly wont keep the backlight on indefinately...

This is my 1st candy bar cell phone (all other until now have been flip). So I've grown to get use to have to lock / unlock the phone before I put it in my pocket / bag.
