Default date on homescreen...

How can i get my homescreen to show long date style instead of short date style??? and no matter how much i play with my power management settings, plugged in or not, the screen blacks out after 5 seconds...

When you open "Start > settings > Homescreen", what homescreen are you using. If we know that, we can tell you where to find it, and how to change it.

I have mine on the standard home screen, not the media one. I am having a really hard time with my start menu doing what I want it to do also...

That can vary depending upon the homescreen itself.

Do you know which one you are using?

Um, I think it is just the standard one? Just says verizon wireless and then the time and then a red square with nothing on it...start and contacts on the bottom of it. Is that what you are asking? I am an idiot when it comes to this stuff

You need to copy the XML file from your Q (found in \Application Data\Home) to your desktop on your PC.

Open the XML file with notepad and find this section:
Quote:
<plugin clsid="{E09043DF-510E-4841-B652-388316977A7A}" name="carrier" height="46">
<allowselection/>
<background>
<format state="selected" bgcolor="COLOR_HOMEHIGHLIGHT"/>
</background>
<label font-size="24" font-weight="bold">
<text><carrier/></text>
</label>
<label y="21" textwidth="163">
<text><wifi/></text>
</label>
<clock>
<time y="0" halign="right" font-size="24" font-weight="bold"/>
<date y="21" halign="right"/>
</clock>
</plugin>
This section "<date y="21" halign="right"/>" is what you need to add in the proper place.

Or you can download the revised version I made, here.
