I'm sure your enthusiasm for the Costly I-phone, and the fact that you had no problem plunking down the six-bills to get it, probably means that the same enthusiasm will be there a few months from now, when apple offers thier first UPDATED version of the AT&T savior. And a few months from then, when yet ANOTHER version of this Christlike device is offered, containing even more updates with items that should've appeared on the FIRST version, the apple faithful will have dropped enough cheddar on these devices to buy steve Jobs a new fleet of I-phone themed FERRARIES.(hope I spelled that right).

In closing, If the day comes that my(trouble free)Q ever bites it, It will certainly be retired to the place of esteem that it deserves!

"Long live the Q".....................thank you

I don't get it, myself. I have had my Q for a few months and haven't had one major problem. To be honest, and this is not a knock on anyone here, I think 90% of the "problems" with the Q is people just not knowing what they're doing, even if they're adamant that they are smarter than the phone. The few problems I did have were solved easily by looking around this forum for 5 minutes.

Personally, I'm not about to plop down 6 bills for a phone from a company that's never made a cell phone before. In time, they'll get cheaper, the technology will get better and then I might consider it but ... yeah, that's just my opinion.

Sorry to see you go. Hope the iPhone works out for ya.

Agreed, I would say that approximately 99% of the users that have performed registry hacks on their Q have probably never touched their PC's registry, and definitely would jump into editing it immediately like their Q. I know its much simpler of an OS, but Windows is still windows and you can't get around that fact.

No need to smash the phone. Just call your service provider 25 - 30 times a day for 6 months and they'll drop you...and help you change over to another service provider. LOL

I sincerely hoped that you spent a ton of time at an Apple store before you decided to get the iPhone...let me explain...

I love new technology, as I am sure that most of the people here do. The day after the iPhone was introduced (look Mom, no line to wait in and plenty of phones in stock!) I went to my local Apple store to see if Jobs had created the miracle that the iPhone was touted to be. Don't get me wrong, when it comes to pc's ar mp3 players Apple has the market by the big ones...but that is not at all the case here.

Here is why...

I use a LOT of text messages. The tiny itty bitty buttons that the iPhone offers isn't at all practical for real world use. The backspace key ends up being the most used key.

No external data. Completely unable to remove any memory device and place it elsewhere.

Internal battery. There is no way to replace the battery. If the battery needs replacement then you have no choice but to replace the whole phone, which is a pain because you can't move the memory from one phone to another.

The iPhone does have a very quick 2.0 Megapixel camera. But lacks a video recorder altogether.

The aotomator is also a neat novelty. Yup, novelty. The screen will only rotate if you hold the phone straight up and down. Besides, I'm content living my life in a non widescreen format.

Well, those are just the major gripes that I can think of off the top of my head. Glitches be damned, thousands, neah millions of people will continue to buy the iPhone in droves. Each new updated iPhone will create another rdiculous frenzy. Perhaps one day Apple will even get it right. But that raises a whole new issue...AT&T.

I have had this service in the past. They offered the worst customer service I have ever recieved on many occasions.

In addition, the rate plans are NUTS! To have the same plan that I have now would cost me over $400 a month. I think I'll be staying right where I am...over here happily with my Q...perhaps even taking a video...

I don't believe you have to replace the phone. I recall reading that Apple announced a battery replacement service (although you would probably have to send your phone in, so you'd have to weigh the trade-offs of being without a phone against losing your data).

Go and have a nice life with apple's crappy marketing outlook and gimmicks.

Congratulations on getting suckered in to buying an apple product.

i'm happy with the 100$ i spent on my Q and the 500$ that i use to pay for my infiniti G35 car instead.

I was on vacation and took a little time to play with the iPhone at an AT&T store. It's a very nice looking piece of hardware, but using the keyboard was difficult (at least with my fingers; I'm sure that a stylus would have worked much better). My wife also wasn't thrilled with the iPhone.

Maybe it's something people will get used to, but, as goyleinlove said above, the backspace could be your most frequently used key.
