There are people who prefer the PPC/PDA concept of "Swiss Army Knife + Phone", then there are the contingent who prefer a phone with a more limited function set, but with a more convenient size and shape. There is no right or wrong answer - as I previously suggested earlier, its like arguing which is better, the Pick-Up truck or the Sportscar. It all depends what your looking for...
Personally, I have had devices that would allow documents to be editted - two different Treos, and a wide array of PDAs. I never used the editting function, ever that I can recall. I don't want to edit and return documents on my phone - I don't trust it as a publishing methodology. If I have something that is so critical that it needs to be marked up and returned NOW, its too important to trust that workflow to my phone or pda.
Same goes with WiFi, for different reasons. I've had Wifi on a couple of handhelds. I rarely used it, and when I did it drained my battery DRY in minutes. While I am sure advances have been made in this regard, I can't believe they have revolutionized the power drain of Wifi technology entirely.
